Every year I tell myself I’m going to do more of this, b/c it’s just so much fun. Maybe this year’s the year to get my stop motion on more often? We’ll see. For now, here it is - my book pitch for school this time was Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Enjoy!
Fun with cut-paper stop motion
Here's my annual stop-motion book pitch for school. This year, Jane Eyre!
Scotland + Ireland
We're back from Scotland - it was an amazing trip...
... lots of great reference and inspiration taken, so I'm excited to get back to work.
In the meantime, here are a few studies I did there:
More soon! And thanks again to everyone who helped me get there - your paintings from Ireland and other rewards are shipping shortly!
Fun with a chalkboard + iMovie
I teach art at Elisabeth Irwin High School in Soho. Toward the end of very year there is an assembly where faculty get up in front of the school to pitch a book suggestion for summer reading. In the fall kids meet in book circle groups with the teacher whose book they picked for discussion. I've made it my tradition to do a stop-motion animation to pitch my book instead. Here's the one I presented the other day. I did it in a rush, but it was so fun to make. With more time I'd love to refine and really flesh it out. I'll post the ones I made in previous years later!
